Regional Transportation Plan Update

It’s time to chime in on the update to the Regional Transportation Plan that will be adopted in 2026. Over the coming months, PSRC will host six regional public events to connect with residents, local leaders and elected officials about transportation priorities. Each event will use food, music and interactive, multi-sensory activities to engage communities around the future of our transportation system.

  • September 4: King County - Central Seattle Public Library

  • September 18: Snohomish County - Everett Train Station

  • October 2: Pierce County - Pioneer Park Pavilion

  • October 16: Pierce County - Point Defiance Pagoda

  • October 23: King County - Tukwila Community Center

  • October 30: Kitsap County - Marvin Williams Recreation Center

All events take place in the evening, from 5:00 - 7:30 p.m. RSVP to an event near you or check out our Engagement Hub.

Congresswoman Randall and Federal Staffers Visit Eagle Harbor Ferry Maintenance Facility

Last week, PSRC had the opportunity to take a group of federal staffers on a behind-the-scenes tour with Washington State Ferries. We rode the ferry from Seattle to Bainbridge Island and back and got a look inside the engine room and the pilot house. On Bainbridge, we were joined by Congresswoman Randall for a tour of the Eagle Harbor maintenance facility, where we had the chance to meet the skilled staff who work tirelessly to keep the ferry fleet operating safely and efficiently. A heartfelt thank you to John Vezina, Jenna Forty and the entire WSF team for hosting us and for sharing the vital work they do to keep the ferry system running smoothly.

Housing Research Center Featured on King 5

I had the opportunity to speak with King 5 about creating a housing research center in Washington state. Thank you to homeowner Joanne Wilson for sharing her story and to Habitat for Humanity Seattle-King & Kittitas Counties for all the work they do to create affordable homeownership opportunities. Check out the article.

Celebrate International Youth Day

Our team has been thinking about the future, not just in terms of mobility and housing infrastructure needs, but also about how today’s youth will participate in transportation, the job market and planning for the future. This is reflected in our research to update the Regional Transportation Plan as well as our Summer Planning Academy, which builds leadership skills and awareness of regional planning. Our 2025 group graduated on August 12, International Youth Day. Congratulations to all!

Snohomish County Wins VISION 2050 Award for the Little Bear Creek Advance Mitigation Site

I enjoyed a visit to Snohomish County Public Works to congratulate them on the groundbreaking work to build a 17-acre wetland restoration project that generates credits for future infrastructure projects while delivering long-term ecological benefits and transportation project cost savings. Congratulations, Snohomish County!
