Puget Sound Energy Provides $250,000 for a Warmer Winter
PSE's third annual Warm Winter campaign supports 85 nonprofits and 12 Washington Tribes across 14 counties
BELLEVUE, Wash. (Nov. 19, 2025) As winter temperatures drop across the Pacific Northwest, Puget Sound Energy (PSE) is helping communities stay warm through its 2025 Warm Winter campaign. The utility has distributed more than $250,000 to 85 nonprofit organizations and 12 Washington Tribes spanning 14 counties to support critical winter needs.
The funding addresses three essential components of a warm winter: providing warm meals, warm clothing and winter necessities, and creating warm hearts through holiday joy events for families and individuals in need.
Now in its third year, the PSE Warm Winter program distributed funds well over a month in advance, allowing partner organizations to plan effectively and count on this funding to ensure access to critical resources during the challenging winter months.
"This is such a challenging time for so many in our community and all the ways people are leaning in, including PSE, are so important," said Maria Metzler, Executive Director of Helpline House. "We - like every food bank in our area - have seen an increase in households coming to us, many for the first time. People are feeling unsure about their employment, their pay, their benefits, and the very systems that are supposed to be there to support them. We are using our collective resources - including the amazing support from our community, PSE included; to ensure folks have access to nutritious foods and perhaps more so, to know that Helpline House is a place they can come when things around them seem uncertain."
Supporting Customers at Home
Beyond community donations, PSE offers customers several ways to create warmer winters at home. The utility provides various home weatherization programs and rebates that help reduce energy bills and improve home comfort. Weatherization prevents the loss of warm or cool air through unseen leaks and seams, offering an effective way to save money and energy.
PSE also helps keep customer homes warm through bill payment assistance programs, including a bill discount rate that can help qualified customers save between 5% and 45% monthly on their energy bills. Customers can visit PSE bill assistance to learn more about assistance programs and determine their eligibility for support.
Funding provided by charitable giving programs from Puget Sound Energy does not come from PSE customer rates or programs and is funded separately by the corporation.
