The Kent, Washington Chamber of Commerce is seeking a talented, energetic, team player to serve in the role of Office Manager.
The City of Kent is in southern King County, approximately halfway between Seattle and Tacoma.  Kent is the sixth largest city in Washington State with a diverse population of more than 128,000 residents, with over 130 different languages spoken.  Kent is a key component of Washington’s global economy distinguished as the fourth largest warehouse distribution center in the nation.  
The Office Manager is responsible for all accounting work, day-to-day office management and support to the CEO, Finance Committee and Executive Committee.

  • Management of all Chamber accounts payables and accounts receivables
  • Manage collections on past due invoices for services rendered
  • Process bi-monthly payroll for Chamber staff
  • Manage monthly invoicing and reconciliation of membership renewals
  • Monthly Reconciliation of Books for Finance Committee
  • Prepare monthly financial packets for Finance Committee and Board of Directors
  • Serve as active member and attend all Chamber Finance Committee meetings
  • Actively participate in sponsorship campaigns
  • Support Chamber sponsored events as requested
  • Manage all office supply inventory and ordering
  • Maintain all employee files
  • All other duties as assigned
  • Associates degree or GED in accounting or business preferred
  • 2-5 years of general office management and/or accounting experience preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • QuickBooks experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a credible reputation and presence in the community on behalf of an organization
  • Serve as a team player with a strong desire to support fellow staff, membership and Chamber leadership
  • Proven excellence in written and oral communication
  • Demonstrate the ability to be highly organized with an emphasis on attention to detail
  • Proactive, positive attitude with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities at one time
  • Experience in soliciting and securing sponsorship dollars from public and private sectors
  • Experience successfully collaborating with elected officials and regional business leaders
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend events required
  • $16-$18.50/hour DOE; Non-exempt
