DESCRIPTION:Kent Mayor Dana Ralph is a lifelong resident of Kent\, representing the fourth generation of her family to call Kent home. Dana graduated from Kent-Meridian High School. During high school she met and later married her high school sweetheart Shawn. Together they raised two boys who graduated from Kentridge HS and are both in college. More than 20 years ago\, Dana started a small business in Kent\, which she still owns. \n\nDana first entered local government about 15 years ago when she volunteered to serve on the Land Use and Planning Board and the Kent Arts Commission\, combining her passion for smart growth and cultural arts. As she learned more about he inner working of City government\, she wanted to be more involved and to help share the City's future. Dana was elected to Kent City Council and served from 2012 through 2017 including two years as Council president.  \n\nIn her words\, "I am so proud to be a part of Kent and to have the opportunity to serve the City I love so much"\, said Dana.
