DESCRIPTION:The Government Affairs committee develops the Chamber's legislative agenda for issues addressed at the State legislature. The committee is comprised of small business\, corporate members and municipal leaders from Kent and around the region. The committee evaluates local\, regional and state issues that affect the business climate and quality of life (including initiatives and referendum). After extensive evaluation on issues the committee makes recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding the Chamber's position on issues.\n\n\n\nJanuary Policy Maker & Business Leader is newly elected Council President Dana Ralph\n\n\n\nBIO on Council President Ralph\n\n\n\n\n\nCouncilmember Dana Ralph\, who is midway through her first term\, received an unanimous vote by the council for the two-year position. Ralph's new role requires her to set the council meeting agendas\, attend regional meetings to represent the council's views and to represent the city of Kent as Mayor Pro Tem in the mayor's absence\, according to a city of Kent media release.\n\n"I will always make myself available to hear questions and concerns\," Ralph said. "I look forward to continuing the progress we've made as the economy improves and keeping the lines of communication open."
