DESCRIPTION:The Government Affairs Committee is made up of various business leaders in the community who meet monthly to guide the Chamber in its political endeavors.  They monitor several areas of policy on the local\, state and federal levels of government. It is vital to the success of the business community to have a presence when policy issues are being discussed. The Chamber is the voice of the business community and advocates on its behalf every day of the year. The Chamber's actions concerning government affairs are where "the rubber meets the road" when it comes to representing your business interests with government. Our strong role in advocacy allows you to work on your business while the Kent Chamber works on behalf of your business. Most business people\, especially those in small businesses\, do not have the time to keep up on the issues\; much less speak out for them. The Chamber's Government Affairs Committee is your eyes\, ears and your voice.
